African Folktales with Erik de Waal

You don’t have to be a kid to enjoy hearing South Africa-based storyteller Erik de Waal spin his magical tales about wild African beasts and lore.
A fringe fixture, de Waal uses charming hand puppets and a few clever props to immediately engage his young viewers. His first story tells how the rhinoceros got his second horn. The second, scarier tale is about river monster Nabulela who eats men, women and children, and has cast his bulging eye on young village girl Thandi.
De Waal is a superb storyteller with his audience — both young and old — hanging on every vivid, imaginative word.
