Let’s start with the good stuff: Ray Eskritt, Heather Witherden, Melissa Granovsky and Johsa Manzanilla are fun, funny women graced with larger-than-life personalities and bodies to match their joie de vivre.
In what’s billed as a burlesque show, the four Winnipeggers have a blast celebrating themselves, challenging body-image ideals and conveying the message that "fat" doesn’t deserve to carry any stigma as an adjective.
You’ll like these women and you’ll want to like their 45-minute show, which unfortunately suffers from dead time between segments and unimaginative and under-rehearsed choreography. The comedy sketches and monologues work, but the burlesque aspect of this cabaret is underwhelming.
