Cool Kids Care
Suitable for ages five and up, this presentation by children’s entertainer Greg Wood uses simple sleight-of-hand magic tricks to entertain the kiddies while talking to them about bullying, as well as what is caring behaviour and what isn’t.
Wood has been doing this sort of thing for 20 years, and it shows, as he manages to engage a large audience of varying little personality types, ranging from the shy kids to the young guys who decided they were critics/hecklers and would not be impressed, to the ones practically begging to get onstage to help.
It’s a straightforward show, which may be a little simple for older children, but great for the younger ones. And if colourful scarves, yellow happy-face balls, cards with multiplying dots and one of those spinning hypnotizing wheel things can help get the anti-bullying messages across even a little, that’s a pretty good trick.
