Sorry, but nothing is quite as it seems in this weird, 75-minute play (ah, so it’s a black comedy — which kinda turns into a horror movie) penned by Winnipeg playwright David Colvin, and populated by mostly middle-aged men.
The rabbi rocks, but otherwise the acting is rather wooden. And the script needs help. But kudos to the clever idea. And thanks for the sort-of history lesson. (Betcha can’t guess why our heroes’ pre-emptive strike calls for 300 pounds of wet clay.)

This black comedy explores hatred, hope and redemption in equal parts…and hardly anyone mentions the shrieks emanating from the cellar, or the fetid smell of wet clay.
