Winnipeg Free Press - ONLINE EDITION
Waving frantically from the merry-go-round, scanning the city from atop the ferris wheel and vomiting up a deep-fried Mars bar — it’s just another day at the Fall Fair.
At least, it is for the guests. The owner knows better: this is the last hurrah for the money-losing operation that’s been his life’s work for
Fringe festival veteran Jayson McDonald lives out the last day of the beloved fair in this funny and sweetly nostalgic one-man show. From the melodramatic teen fighting with her best friend to the father who fixates on his marital problems while his daughter revels in the rides, McDonald’s portrayals are by turns introspective and hilarious, and always spot-on.
Nearly every character in this play drew big laughs, but it’s hard to top the scuttling, claw-clacking Lobster Boy of the freak show for keeping the crowd in stitches.

It's the last day of the Fall Fair, the last day of our acquaintance and the last time I'll ever eat a deep-fried Mars Bar.
