Fools for Love

Friends contemplating being lovers is a dreary rom-com convention, but it gets pumped full of life and inventive, knee-slapping comedy by Rocket and Sheshells in this riotous clown show.

Next-door neighbours Rocket and Sheshells are hitting the classifieds looking for mates, but make do with each other for outings that include going to a movie they can agree on (Pride and Prejudice 2: Extreme Prejudice), going on a picnic and venturing into the basement.

Minimal props — two dolls, two chairs, two flashlights, and a box of Timbits — augment some extraordinary physical comedy from this Edmonton troupe. It’s charming but a little rude: Just because there are red noses doesn’t mean you should take the little ones. But mature audiences are guaranteed immature, silly laughs.
