Michigan-born monologuist Aji Slater is a juggler who offers up a three-part definition of “geek” (“No. 1: Geeks like stuff... a lot”) which pretty much embraces everyone. References to Star Wars and Star Trek: The Next Generation are designed to bring in the fanboys and fangirls, but once enticed, they’re in for a pleasantly droll hour-long monologue about Slater’s experiences in circus school and his love life, interspersed with some impressive juggling. As a kind of bonus track, he also performs a radical revamping of the Geto Boys’ Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta.

Yes, a white, red-haired juggler will rap. And it’s still likable.

— Randall King

From the Fringe program:

geek: (n): someone with a specific niche interest or passion, potentially obsession. GEEK LIFE is a celebration of the oddball in us all, a collection of comic autobiographical short stories from a socially awkward misfit desperately aiming to avoid a "real" job. Relive these true tales behind surviving circus school, growing up geek and coming out clown.
