Winnipeg comedian Bill Pats opens this one-hour storytelling session by naming the date he tried to commit suicide.
Obviously, he botched the job. But by that point, Pats had messed up on multiple fronts. In a minor financial fix, he pulled a stunt that got him fired from his job and almost landed him in jail. It also left him deeply in debt, but Pats just kept digging a deeper hole.
The author of his own fate, he’s managed to spin near-tragedy into an amusing, wryly witty tale — and it appears he’s rebuilt a wonderful life. Luckily, he survived to see friends and fans flock to his opening show, which closed with a standing ovation.
