This allegorical drama commits the ultimate F-word sin — it’s boring. After Jesus makes a dozen YouTube videos that go viral and attract police attention, he’s invited to appear on a Sunday-morning TV show. A religious producer feeds the interviewer questions while she tries to dig up dirt on a 13th video, and the non-charismatic Jesus holds forth on his Messiah status and issues that range from peace, love and understanding to the evils of capitalism and the Alberta tar sands.

Presumably, the sermon is meant to enlighten the ignorant hordes, but it comes off as condescending, dull and preachy.

— Pat St. Germain

From the Fringe program:

When a controversial YouTube video goes viral, people start asking questions: Who is this audacious impostor pretending to be Jesus? Why is he saying such outlandish things, as if Jesus had nothing to do with the religion he founded? And why are government forces taking an interest? A TV talk show executive tracks 'Jesus' down to get some answers.

"Pure heresy from start to finish. Watch it at peril of your soul." - Winnipeg church leader.
