Winnipeg Free Press - ONLINE EDITION

Loon

Loon is a sweet fantasy about a lonely little bachelor who falls in love with the moon and tries to take it home with him. It has no dialogue. It doesn’t need it. The lone performer wears a full-face mask that he gets to speak volumes.

Feelings about longing, heartbreak and joy are conveyed by music, physical stance and some well-chosen props. When the character simply draped a string of pearls across one special keepsake, patrons were close to tears. Loon is impressive physical theatre and will charm you beyond words.
