Outside Joke Makes It Up To You
You’ve gotta hand it to this local improv troupe: They play well together, producing a cohesive and coherent hour-long comic musical based on a few audience suggestions.
Andrea del Campo was on fire, slipping from a role as a brain-injured battleship helmsman intent on invading Prince Edward Island to a spectacularly lazy island doctor who tries to stop the invasion, along with a smattering of other characters.
She may have been shouldering a heavier than normal load, since fellow players Chadd Henderson, RobYn Slade and Toby Hughes are also in improv show Advanced D’n’D: The Next Campaign at Venue 6.
But everyone, including musician Leif Ingebrigtsen, pulled their weight, adding a zombie Prince Edward, a matronly witch and a quirky serial killer to the mix.
The troupe boasts that no two shows are alike, which could signal hit-or-miss action. But judging by this smart performance, they’re pretty sharp shooters.
