Yes, yes, oh, yes, Phone Whore has higher ambitions than getting its audiences all hot and bothered by talking dirty.

In her shapeless pajamas and fuzzy slippers, the plus-size Larissa is hardly a picture of sexual desirability, but once the phone-sex operator heats up the line with X-rated come-ons, it’s not long to customer satisfaction. As Larissa participates in conversations describing increasingly explicit sexual proclivities, she claims to perform a public service by making sure her clients talk out their fantasies rather than acting them out on real people.

Boston’s Cameryn Moore is the playwright and performer of Phone Whore, for which she used some of her real-life experiences as a phone-sex operator. The ease with which she assumes any sexual role is certainly an impressive talent.

Moore has some thoughtful things to say about her job providing safe sex, but Phone Whore suffers the same fate as pornography in that the repetition soon grows boring. No theatrical Viagra here.
