Luke and Jonas have known each other a long time. They have also been apart for a long time. After 10 years, they try to reconnect, only to find themselves dissecting the history that binds them. It becomes clear that their relationship is not entirely linear — a third line connects them, creating a strange triangle of guilt and love.

Grant Burr (Jonas) and Lyle Morris (Luke) deliver stirring performances in this taut and sometimes explosive two-man drama as their characters and their blood-stained ties come unravelled. Luke is struggling to overcome his time in prison. Jonas wants to put it all behind them and move on. But Curtis, long dead, is still holding sway over them, pushing and taunting them with the same destructive force he wielded in high school. This Winnipeg company has pulled together a compelling and well-written story about pulling apart.

From the Fringe program:

Director: Nancy Drake

Luke and Jonas sat before their lives like children before the curtain in a theatre, in excited anticipation of what was to come. But it would be no comedy. Luke has just been released from prison, but the atonement has only just begun. This is the story of two men in a true light.

"There are dark spaces in me. I didn't know how dark."

A harrowing new drama.

Audience Classification: Parental Guidance

Length: 60 mins.

Warnings: Coarse language.
