This is a solid, sweet dramatic comedy written by award-winning playwright Diana Son, performed by a local troupe of five aspiring young actors.

It chronicles the budding relationship between Callie, a New York traffic reporter (Samantha Walters) and Sara, a schoolteacher in the Bronx (Tatiana Carnevale), and pivots around a cataclysmic event that follows their first kiss. (No plot spoilers here.)

The play has some great lines and strong characters, but there are few sparks between the two leads, and only a few moments of this 90-minute performance truly resonate. Eric Rae and Ashley Kowalchuk have supporting roles, and Colin Connor rings true as Sara’s jilted boyfriend Peter.

From the official Fringe program:

"Something as thought-provoking and moving as STOP KISS is a joy to experience." - Star Ledger

When Callie and Sara experience their first kiss, their lives change beyond what they could ever imagine.

A poignant and funny exploration of the highs and lows of contemporary urban life that the NY Times calls, "irresistibly exciting...sweet, sad and enchantingly sincere."
