Two of The Horrible Friends are back at the Fringe and their title proves true: they have added by subtracting one.

Luke Falconer and Shawn Kowalke more than fill the bare space onstage. Fellow Horrible Friend Brent Hirose is AWOL, but the two remaining friends bounce off each other just fine. They played to a tiny but enthusiastic audience opening night. Tiny was a shame, but the enthusiasm was not surprising.

The show could have been more polished if they stopped checking their play list to see what came next and if they lost those blasted plastic bats they’ve brought back again. But the show is quick and clever and Kowalke promises they get even better as the fringe wears on.

The Horrible Friends have reduced their numbers by one, thereby increasing their average height by more than a foot . . . but don't think the jokes will go over your head!

Shawn and Luke will take even the basest suggestion and find previously unheard of lows from which to derive comedic gold, and everyone knows that gold can only be found underground. Where dead people live. Or not live as the case may be. Science!
