Oi, guv. The Saints of British Rock claim to be the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world who can travel through time and space with the help of crystals. Or maybe it’s the drugs.

The ambitious one-hour mockumentary uses interview segments, videos and nine songs performed live by a five-piece band to tell the out-of-this-world story of the party-hearty London rockers, most specifically guitarist-vocalist Rocco Hercules Somershire and one-named vocalist-bassist Jib, who never touches a four-string.

The comedy starts slow but picks up steam. Most of its early troubles are a result of the volume of the band drowning out the vocals so some stories are unintelligible (hopefully this was just a result of first-night bugs). The songs are decent, if unremarkable, but Sleep Wiff Me Tonight and Let’s Go Out and Fight totally rock.
