Local actor Glenn Odero plays himself in this comic ode to acting, dramatizing his own experiences in theatre school.

Classmates include a musical-theatre wannabe (Jazmyn Shell), a would-be action heroine (Ava Darrach-Gagnon) and an entertainment lawyer (Justin Otto) executing a risky mid-life career change. All get put through the mill by their imposing European drama teacher (Kristen Wattis).

Odero’s suggests all these Winnipeg actors aspire to a Hollywood career, a dubious proposition.

Otherwise, this is an entertaining hour highlighted by some over-the-top readings from movie scripts such as Kill Bill and Boogie Nights.

— Randall King
