What’s most revealing about a naked Rachelle Fordyce at the conclusion of UnADULTeRATED Me is how underwritten her clown striptease show is, depending excessively on audience participation.

The Winnipegger actor performed under extremely trying conditions in Montreal — a loud, driving beat from a band playing upstairs throbbed throughout the show — but her red-nose romance failed to generate any heat or interest in a small, fickle audience reluctant to play with her. Without spectator participation, she floundered.

Fizzy (perhaps a distant cousin of Shannan Calcutt’s more endearing Izzy of fringe festivals past) is hot to trot over a new boyfriend and wants to rehearse the seduction scene with the audience before his arrival in an hour. UnADULTeRATED Me shows flashes of potential but needs a lot of work. It could be worth seeing by the time it reaches Winnipeg, but it wasn’t in Montreal.
