Winnipeg Free Press Archives May 1964 This aerial view of the Canadian Pacific Railway yards in Winnipeg shows a section of the yards between the Arlington and Salter Street bridges. This yard, among the largest privately owned rail yards in the world, handles about 3,500 rail cars per day. There are 285.06 miles of tracks in its 1,134 acres with storage capacity for 14,730 railway cars.
