Leaders to meet in first debate Wednesday

The Manitoba Teachers' Society will host the first leaders' debate of the Oct. 4 provincial election campaign on Wednesday morning.

MTS said this morning that NDP Premier Greg Selinger, Tory leader Hugh McFadyen, and Liberal leader Dr. Jon Gerrard have agreed to debate from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel, 288 Portage Ave.

The debate will focus on, but not be limited to, education issues, said MTS.

The debate will be broadcast on CJOB, and hosted by that station's Richard Cloutier, as well as being streamed on mbteach.org.
