Premier Greg Selinger and Health Minister Theresa Oswald said today one of the first jobs of a re-elected NDP government is to negotiate a new deal with Ottawa for health-care funding.
The national health accord expires in 2014 and Selinger said the NDP would work with other provinces to get stable funding for the next decade.
Selinger also said an NDP government would fight for a national strategy for seniors health care and better health care on First Nations.
He also used today's promise to slam Progressive Conservative Leader Hugh McFadyen as not being a credible person to sit at the negotiating table with Ottawa.
"We have the experience to get things done," Selinger said.
