Selinger says NDP would expand home-care services
A re-elected NDP government will expand home-care services in Manitoba, Premier Greg Selinger said today.
He said the new hospital home teams will be first introduced through the Grace, Concordia and Victoria hospitals with the aim of keeping more seniors living in the homes and reduce pressure on hospitals.

The incremental cost of the program is $2.5 million and would see doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and physical therapists make visits to seniors in their homes rather than seniors have to be admitted to hospital.
Selinger made the promise in St. Nobert to boost the chances of last-minute NDP candidate Dave Gaudreau.
An internal party dispute delayed Gaudreau's nomination. Incumbent NDP Marilyn Brick said several months ago she would not run again.
Many observers said that delay has given PC candidate Karen Velthuys the edge in capturing the seat.
Marcel Laurendeau is the Liberal candidate. Laurendeau is the former Tory MLA for the riding.
