Politics

Kildonan has been held by the NDP for all but six years since the riding was created in 1958.

Dave Chomiak, a popular cabinet minister, has been the NDP MLA since 1990 is one of the longest sitting MLAs in the legislature now. He is running again in 2011.

A combination of his personal popularity and the NDP brand’s popularity in this riding serve to keep this riding off the target lists of either the Tories or the Liberals.

2007 results

Dave Chomiak, NDP 5,012

Brent Olynyk, PC 2,360

Wade Parke, LIB 556

Nathan Zahn, GRN 204
