NDP's Blady keeps seat, Tory to seek recount

In a down-to-the-wire race, NDP incumbent Sharon Blady appears to have held on to the west Winnipeg riding of Kirkfield Park.

But Tory challenger Kelly de Groot will request a recount after losing by an apparent 29 votes.

"It's not the result we wanted," she told supporters at her headquarters.

"We're going to hold tight and wait for that recount. It was a long night and mistakes can happen. I'm going to keep the faith and hope some numbers get changed."
