Winnipeg Free Press - ONLINE EDITION
Come fly with me!
Welcome! As United Way of Winnipeg’s 2009 Campaign Chair, I am thrilled to invite you on a very special journey.
Over the next few months, generous Winnipeggers from every corner of the city will have a hand in making Winnipeg a better place for everyone by supporting United Way’s annual fundraising campaign.
This year, for the first time ever, I have the unique opportunity to offer you insight and an exciting new perspective on our progress by regularly communicating through this blog. Special thanks to the Winnipeg Free Press for making this possible.
It all starts today, when we officially get the campaign off the ground with our city-wide kickoff and Plane Pull at Red River College’s Stevenson Campus.
More than 1300 Winnipeggers will be there as we unveil United Way’s 2009 fundraising goal.
We’ll also find out the progress we’ve already made thanks to hundreds of people and workplaces who got involved early. Now it’s up to the rest of us to follow their example and get on board.
I encourage you to visit often. This is our chance to make a difference Winnipeg. Join me and together we’ll show why our city is recognized as one of the most generous in Canada.
Without you, there would be no way.
