Two Manitoban women have been named to the national team that will compete for the world championship this year.

On Monday, Hockey Canada unveiled the roster for the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship. Making the cut are Manitobans, defender Jocelyne Larocque, who plays for Alberta in the CWHL, and forward Bailey Bram, who plays for Brampton in the CWHL. Both women hail from Ste. Anne, Manitoba.

The 23-woman roster also includes veteran Canadian hockey stars including Hayley Wickenheiser and Tessa Bonhomme. Twenty-two of the players won gold at last year's world championship in Vermont.

Both Larocque and Bram played for Canada at the 2012 IIHF World Women's Championship.

The 2013 championship tourney kicks off on April 2 in Ottawa, with Canada playing its first game against the United States. Before the tournament opens, the national team will head to training camp on March 26 in Petawawa, and will play two exhibition games.
