Desautels, Voth named MHSAA players of the week
Post Rebecca Desautels of the College Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau Canadiens varsity girls’ basketball team and forward Joe Voth of the Pinawa Panthers varsity boys’ basketball team are the Manitoba High School Athletics Association’s players of the week.
Desautels, the Home Run Sports urban athlete of the week, was one of her team’s top scorers this season averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Voth, the Panthers’ captain and team scoring leader, is the Tri-Star rural athlete of the week after he led his team to the Sunrise League Championship. In the provincial A tournament, he averaged 25 points per game and was chosen as the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Player Choice Award recipient.
