Johnson of Breezy Bend atop leader board at golf amateurs
The Golf Manitoba Men’s Mid-Amateur and Women’s Amateur Championship completed the first of three rounds at The Meadows Golf Club Monday.
Breezy Bend’s Eric Johnson recorded the day’s top score for the men, shooting an impressive five-under 67, enough to edge out fellow Breezy member Justin McDonald’s 68.

For the women, Elmhurst’s Bri-ann Tokariwski lead the way with a one-over 73, narrowly beating last year’s runner-up Jenna Roadley by a single stroke.
Play resumes Wednesday with round two. The first tee-time is scheduled for 7 a.m.
