Rifles' Carter named to All-Canadians team

Winnipeg Rifles receiver Brett Carter has been named to the 2012 Offensive Jostens/CFL All-Canadians team by the Canadian Junior Football League.

Carter led the CJFL with 48 receptions and also recorded 782 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

The CJFL, which includes the Prairie Football Conference, the B.C. Football Conference and the Ontario Football Conference, will announced the defensive All-Canadians on Thursday.

The CJFL Major Award winners will be announced on Friday during the Canadian Bowl Banquet of Champions.

The 2012 Canadian Bowl will kick-off on Saturday at 1 p.m. at McLeod Stadium in Langley, B.C.

There were 14 players named Offensive All-Canadians.

Frank Pellegrino, Calgary Colts

Matt Leung, Saskatoon Hilltops

Tyler Oldendorf, Vancouver Island Raiders

Receiver

Anthony Pizzuti, Hamilton Hurricanes -- 39 receptions, 809 yards, 5 touchdowns

Whitman Tomusiak, Vancouver Island Raiders -- 37 receptions, 919 yards*, 8 touchdowns

Kyle McGinnis, Saskatoon Hilltops -- 42 receptions, 622 yards, 2 touchdowns

Brett Carter, Winnipeg Rifles -- 48 receptions*, 782 yards, 6 touchdowns

Running Back

Greg Morris, Westshore Rebels -- 150 carries, 1,527 yards*, 14 touchdowns

Jordan Samoil, Edmonton Wildcats -- 163 carries*, 1,340 yards, 13 touchdowns

Quarterback

Jordan Yantz, Vancouver Island Raiders -- 175 completions*, 3,243 yards*, 33 touchdowns*

Punter

Quinn Van Glyswyk,-- Westshore Rebels - 62 punts, 2,145 net yards, 34.6 average

Place Kicker

Zack Medeiros, London Beefeaters -- 17 for 22 in field goals (77.3%), 26 for 26 in converts
