Spartans' Masepela to join Wesmen women's volleyball team
Coach Diane Scott of the University of Winnipeg Wesmen women's volleyball team has announced that Aaliyah Masepela of the Sisler Spartans varsity girls' volleyball team has committed to join the Wesmen for the 2013-2014 Canada West season.
Masepela, a 5-foot-11 middle blocker, was the captain of the Sisler high school team and is an honour roll student. She has been a successful player at both the provincial and club team level with the Mavericks Girls Volleyball 18U team.
"We are extremely pleased and excited to have Aaliyah join our program," Scott said in a media release. "She is an outstanding young woman in her community and a very gifted athlete (who) we believe has potential to become a very strong CIS female volleyball player."
