Three Manitobans headed to Team Canada camp
Jocelyne Larocque and Bailey Bram of Ste. Anne and Jenelle Kohanchuk of Winnipeg have been selected to Canada’s national women’s hockey team’s winter camp Jan. 20-25 in Ottawa.
The three Manitobans were among 23 players invited to the camp which will serve an an evaluation opportunity for the Team Canada coaching staff in preparation for the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship in Ottawa and 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. Players will continue to be evaluated with their club teams during the 2012-13 season.
Bram and Larocque were both Team Canada members last year which won silver at the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship in Burlington, Vt.
