Brandon Wheat Kings captain Ryan Pulock has been chosen as the honourary prospect of the 2013 Director’s Cup Prospects program for Hockey Manitoba.
Pulock, a defenceman, is projected as a possible first-round selection at the upcoming NHL entry draft in June.
Hockey Manitoba’s prospects program is being revamped, giving minor bantam players a high-end development program to be an entry point for the Program of Excellence.
It includes both on-ice and off-ice training being delivered by the regions with a standardized five-week skills program ending with a tournament April 26 - 28 in Portage la Prairie.
Pulock, a Grandview, Man. native, has been through the Hockey Manitoba Director’s Cup program before and has also been through the national program of excellence as a member of Under-16 Team Manitoba and Under-17 Team West in 2011.
In 2012, Pulock was a member of Under-18 Team Canada and this season with the Wheat Kings he had 14 goals and 31 assists for 45 points.
