Wytinck stumbles after strong start at Men's Amateur campionship

The news is almost all bad so far today for Manitoba golfers at the Canadian Men's Amateur championship near Ottawa.

Off to a good start Tuesday with a one-under-par 71, Manitoba Amateur champ Josh Wytinck stumbled to a seven-over 79 today at Camelot Golf and Country Club. He's six-over 150 for two days and not likely to make the cut of the low 70 players and ties after today's action.

Manitoba's other interprovincial team members, Garth Collings and Breezy Bend and Aaron Cockerill of Teulon, were only marginally better today.

Cockerill shot a one-over 73 at Camelot but is eight-over through two days. Collings was 76 today at Camelot and is nine-over for two days.

Manitoba's team total of plus-five today and plus-nine total, will be well back in the annual Willingdon Cup competition.

Southwood's Bryce Barr, playing at club de golf Outaouais today, shot 73 and is plus-five after two days.

Five other Manitobans, including St. Charles' Derek East, who was 71 on opening day, are playing their second rounds this afternoon.
