THE FC Winnipeg Lions senior men's soccer team are back from Halifax with a new piece of hardware, bringing home bronze from the national championship.
The Lions captured the medal after beating the Saskatchewan representative HUSA Alumni 2-1 in overtime at the senior Canadian club national tournament in Nova Scotia. The Lions' leading goal scorer, AJ Naumiuk, scored the winning goal. Earlier in the tournament, the Lions dropped a tight 1-0 semifinal game to Ontario's Gloucester Celtic, who went on to win gold. The bronze medal capped off a season that saw the Lions go undefeated in Manitoba.
