Moors, Huertas honoured
UNIVERSITY of Manitoba swimmer Kimberley Moors and men's basketball player Jonar Huertas have been named the Bisons Smitty's athletes of the week.
Moors, who returned to the pool this season after a seven-year hiatus, was the women's swimming team's top finisher as she placed fourth in the 50-metre butterfly event at the 2013 Canada West Swimming Championship at the University of Victoria last weekend. Her time of 28.51 seconds was just .40 off a bronze medal.
Huertas scored 51 points in a two-game home-court sweep of the Lethbridge Pronghorns last weekend. Huertas hit 10 of 19 three-point shots and played 73 of 80 minutes in the two games.
