Trojan twins will suit up with Wesmen women's hoops team next season

DANIELLE and Adela Baril, talented twins from the No. 1-ranked Vincent Massey Collegiate Trojans will be joining the University of Winnipeg women's basketball program in September, for the 2009-2010 season.

Danielle is a 5-foot-9 guard who is averaging 18 points, five assists, three steals and seven blocks per game this season with the Trojans. In 2008 she was a starter for the Manitoba juvenile provincial team at the national championships in Prince Edward Island.

Adele is also 5-foot-9. Playing the perimeter, she is averaging 11 points, five assists, three steals and five blocks per game. She was a starter with the Winnipeg Internationals club team and also a member of the under-16 provincial team.

"The twins bring experience, attitude and leadership," said Vincent Massey coach Stacey Hawash. "They are both strong competitors who hate to lose."

"We have followed them in our program for the past five years," Wesmen coach Tanya McKay said. "They have worked hard on their training, and game, to have the opportunity to get to the CIS level."
