  • Print

CHICAGO - Andretti Autosport will team with Volkswagen AG to field two Global RallyCross entries this season for Tanner Foust and Scott Speed.

The Volkswagen Andretti RallyCross team was introduced Thursday at the Chicago Auto Show.

The team will initially compete with modified Polo rally cars built on the chassis that won the 2013 World Rally Championship for drivers and manufacturers. It will switch during the season to the all-wheel-drive GRC Beetle, which has 560 horsepower.

Tanner Foust is the 2011 and 2012 GRC champion and was runner-up last season. He'll drive the Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle.

Speed will drive the 7UP entry. A former Formula One and NASCAR driver, Speed won a pair of GRC races last season.
