Astros minor leaguer Wikoff hospitalized in stable condition after 1-car accident in Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Houston Astros say minor league infielder Brandon Wikoff is hospitalized in stable condition after a one-car accident while in Florida for spring training.

The team provided no other details about Wikoff's accident Sunday night or his specific injuries.

In a statement Monday, Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow says the team's thoughts are with Wikoff and his family and friends, and expressed hope for a speedy recovery.

Wikoff has been in the Astros' minor league system since being a fifth-round pick in the 2009 amateur draft.
