Goldeyes' Ramon available to play tonight against Saltdogs

Infielder Amos Ramon has been activated from the inactive list by the Winnipeg Goldeyes and will be available to play tonight in Lincoln, Nebraska against the Saltdogs.

Ramon, 29, was the Goldeyes' regular third baseman until suffering a separated shoulder in a collision at home plate on June 16 in a game against the Sioux City Explorers.

Ramon is batting .272 with a home run and 14 RBI in the 27 games he played  this season.

The Goldeyes (33-22) meet the Saltdogs tonight in the second of a three-game set. The Goldeyes beat Lincoln 7-2 in the series opener on Monday.

The Goldeyes are one game behind first place Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, who have won 13 straight games, in the race for the top spot in the American Association’s North Division.

The Goldeyes now have 22 players on their active roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.
