Goldeyes add infielder Jose Duran

The Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team has added an infielder in Jose Duran, .302 hitter claimed by manager Rick Forney off waivers from the Kansas City T-Bones.

Duran, 25, played in 49 games with the T-Bones hitting a home run with 20 RBI.

Last season, Duran split time between the Wichita Wingnuts and the T-Bones, hitting .336 with three home runs and 29 RBI in 59 games.

Duran is expected to arrive in Winnipeg tomorrow.

The Goldeyes now have 22 players on their active roster, including 11 pitchers and 11 position players.

The Goldeyes (30-20) will host the St. Paul Saints (23-26) tonight at 7 p.m. at Shaw Park in the first of a four-game set which will conclude the team's 12-game home stand.

Winnipeg has a 4-4 record over the first eight games of the home stand after being swept by the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and sweeping the Sioux Falls Pheasants.
