The Winnipeg Goldeyes have found their groove again after a recent swoon and improved to 47-29 on the season with two wins against the Explorers in Sioux City, Iowa, on Wednesday
The Fish completed Tuesday's rain-postponed game by adding a run to win 6-2, then took the ensuing seven-inning game 10-0.
Strong pitching paved the way for the Goldeyes in both outings. Ethan Hollingworth started Tuesday's game and gave up one run through four innings. Gabe Aguilar and Brendan Lafferty closed it out the next day. In game two, Nick Hernandez pitched a complete-game shutout.
Casey Haerther smacked a two-run home run during Tuesday's game and Reggie Abercrombie cranked a three-run shot in the final game of the four-game series on Wednesday.
The Goldeyes now return home to take on the Wichita Wingnuts in a four-game series that begins Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Shaw Park.
