Goldeyes bid goodbye to Cook, Kody and Long

The Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball team has bid farewell to pitcher Aaron Cook, outfielder Kody Kaiser and infielder Wes Long who have retired from professional baseball.
Long, who played 201 games at shortstop during the past three seasons, led the Goldeyes in RBI last season with 81. He hit .264 and added 10 home runs in 91 games. Kaiser and Cook both played one season with the Goldeyes. Kaiser led the Goldeyes in stolen bases last season with 37, while Cook recorded a 1.01 ERA in 28 games as a relief pitcher after being signed partway through the season.
"All three of these guys were a big part of the success we had last season and it won’t be easy to fill those holes," Goldeyes manager Rick Forney said in a statement. "We wish them the best as they move forward to the next stage of their lives."
