The Winnipeg Goldeyes will play a bit later today, as a rainy afternoon sweeps over southern Manitoba.

Instead of playing the scheduled 1:30 p.m. matinee, the Goldeyes and Gary SouthShore Railcats will play their penultimate game of the season starting at 6 p.m. at Shaw Park.

The box office will open at noon, and gates will open at 5 p.m.

It's the second-last game of the season for both the North Division champion Fish and the Railcats, who are clinging to a faint playoff hope as they trail the Central Division lead by one, with two more to go. They must win out the last two games of the series against Winnipeg, and hope the Lincoln Saltdogs lose both of theirs to Sioux City.

The Goldeyes will face the Central champion in the first round of the playoffs, which opens Wednesday at Shaw Park.
