Goldeyes lose pitcher Jones, pitching coach Pulsipher
The Winnipeg Goldeyes have shaken up their pitching staff, sending right-handed pitcher Alex Jones to the Laredo Lemurs for future considerations, and announcing pitching coach Bill Pulsipher has left the club.
In 26 trips out of the bullpen, Alex Jones is 2-0 with a 2.73 ERA.
With the departure, the Goldeyes currently have 20 players on their roster, half of them pitchers.
Meanwhile, the team announced pitching coach Bill Pulsipher has left the club and will not return for the remainder of the season.
In a press release Wednesday, the Winnipeg club reported that Pulsipher has left for his home in Port St. Lucie, Fla., due to personal reasons and will not rejoin the Fish for the final stretch of the 2012 campaign.
Goldeyes manager Rick Forney will resume control over the pitching staff for the rest of the year.
With 13 games left in the regular season, the Goldeyes are 9.5 games back of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks for tops in the North Division and are only 1.5 games up on St. Paul for the American Association's wild-card playoff berth.
