The Winnipeg Goldeyes pounded the ball Tuesday night and the result was a 12-2 shellacking of the host team, the Trois-Rivieres Aigles.
Ray Sadler contributed four RBI and six other Fish starters contributed hits. Josh Mazzola went 3-for-5 with three RBI for the Goldeyes, who snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 26-29 on the season.
Matt Rusch went five and two-third innings to collect the win.
The Goldeyes were leading 3-1 when they exploded for five runs in the seventh, beginning with a Sadler double scoring three runs. The Aigles responed with three runs in the eighth but the Fish finished with a four-run ninth.
The Goldeyes play the rubber match of the three-game series Wednesday night with Pete Gehle taking the mound for Winnipeg against the Aigles' Garrett Bullock.
