Goldeyes solve RedHawks riddle, win 8-6

FARGO, N.D. —The Winnipeg Goldeyes finally solved the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

The Goldeyes put a halt to a nine-game losing streak against the RedHawks Wednesday with an 8-6 victory.at Newman Outdoor Field.

With the win the Goldeyes improve to 48-34, pulling within 5 ½ games of Fargo-Moorhead in the battle for first place in the American Association’s North Division.

Ace Walker had a solid start on the mound for the Goldeyes and Chris Roberson and Yurendell de Caster each drove in two.

Walker pitched six complete innings. He allowied only three runs on seven scattered hits while Roberson went two-for-three with two runs scored and two. De Caster drove in the winning run as the Goldeyes pounded out 14 hits. Price Kendall and Luis Alen each had three.

Walker (7-4, 3.72 ERA) notched the win while Fargo reliever Joe Harris (1-1, 2.09 ERA), suffered the loss for the RedHawks. Chris Bodishbaugh picked up his first save as a member of the Goldeyes.
