Goldeyes win one, lose one in pseudo double header

  • Print

The Winnipeg Goldeyes and the Trois-Rivieres Aigles each took home a win tonight after partaking in a pseudo double header due to a suspended game on Tuesday.

The Goldeyes took the win in the first game, defeating the Aigles 5-3. During the Tuesday afternoon portion of the game, the Goldeyes took an early lead taking three in the third. The Aigles scored two of their own in the bottom of the third, but the Goldeyes jumped ahead again with two more runs in the fourth before the game was suspended due to rain.

Picking things up at the top of the fifth on Wednesday, Trois-Rivieres only picked up one more run, which was not enough to overtake the Fish.

In the evening game, which was modified to seven innings, the Goldeyes were first to score again, but the Aigles managed to tie things up at the bottom of the fourth.

A run by Sasha LaGarde broke the tie in the bottom of the seventh and the Aigles went on to win 2-1.

Winnipeg and Trois-Rivieres will wrap up their four-game series on Thursday.
