Fish release Kendall to catch on elsewhere
THE Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Friday they have released infielder Price Kendall, the 2011 American Association rookie of the year.
Kendall played three seasons for the Goldeyes, 2010-12, and was one of the team's most reliable players, playing in all 100 games in each of the last two seasons.
Kendall was also very productive at the plate, posting a .303 career batting average in Winnipeg.
The Goldeyes said in a release they put Kendall on irrevocable waivers so the 27-year-old could pursue baseball opportunities closer to his home in California this season.
"Price was professional in every sense of the word for his three years with the Goldeyes," Fish manager Rick Forney said in a statement. "He worked his way on the roster in 2010 after being a non-roster invitee to training camp and he's been a big part of our team for the last three seasons. We wish him all the best in the future."
The Fish currently have 26 players signed. Training camp opens May 4.
