CHRIS SALAMIDA'S time with the Winnipeg Goldeyes this season was short but fruitful.
Salamida was named the American Association's pitcher of the month for August after posting a perfect 6-0 mark.
The 29-year-old joined the Goldeyes in late July and became the team's best pitcher, going 7-1 down the stretch and pushing his team to the brink of a playoff berth.
Salamida had complete-game shutouts in back-to-back starts, beating the Sioux City Explorers 1-0 on Aug. 15 and in a 7-0 victory over the St. Paul Saints on Aug. 20.
Salamida carried a 2.08 ERA in seven August starts and owned a 2.23 ERA in nine starts with the Goldeyes in 2013.
