TRIESTE, Italy - Canada's men's basketball team continued its European exhibition tour Monday with a 78-73 loss to 11th-ranked Serbia.

Brady Heslip led the Canadians with 18 points and three steals, while Kelly Olynyk added 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Melvin Ejim chipped in with 11 points, six boards, one steal and a block.

Bogdan Bogdanovic led Serbia with 19 points and two steals.

Serbia led by 13 in the second quarter, but Canada was able to come back and take the lead behind Heslip's scoring.

Serbia regained the lead before the end of the third, then went up by 12 in the fourth quarter after an 8-0 run.

A late push by Canada wasn't enough as Serbia held on for the five-point win.

"It was a tough physical game against one of the better teams at the World Cup. I'm proud to say that we competed well," Canada head coach Jay Triano said.

Canada faces Bosnia and Herzegovina Tuesday in Trieste.
